USCG IBEX CE Approval Lloyd's Registry

Monday Nov. 1, 2004 - Current Composites won the Innovation Award for its Liquid Sound Dampening product, Silent Running, at the 14th Annual International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition & Conference (IBEX) that was just held in Miami, FL

The award is presented for innovative product(s) that (are newly) introduced at IBEX and that are likely to make significant contributions to the marine industry. Silent Running SR 1000 Marine Coating is a ground breaking technology - a liquid coating that dampens noise and vibrations across a variety of applications in the marine environment.

SR 1000 utilizes a cutting edge viscoelastic polymer system that virtually eliminates unwanted vibration and sound problems. The coating absorbs vibration, the root cause of unwanted noise, and dissipates it throughout the applied surface. Silent Running is a nontoxic, VOC free, water-based, vibration absorbing coating that goes on easily with a brush, roller, or spray gun. It takes up less space and weighs less than existing sound proofing technologies such as mats and wraps.

Silent Running is U.S. Coast Guard and European Type approved for all marine applications.

“Winning the IBEX Innovation Award proves that our technology is here to stay and is viable. This opens up a whole new approach to sound dampening in the marine market and establishes our presence in the recreational and commercial marine industries” stated Current Composites President and CEO Brian Prinz. “The professional boat builder as well as the weekend boater now has a cost effective product to solve a problem that has plagued the boating industry for a long time.”
